Caring for a fostered hedgehog in an enclosed garden.

Basic requirements

wash out food bowls and dry.
Evenings - put in hedgehog biscuits and tinned chicken in jelly dog food

Monitor for any signs of problems
Weekly - remove any obvious dirty bedding from nest box (unless possibility of babies)

Fostering agreement
To phone/text Linda within the first week to update on hedgehog

To text, (or agreed contact method) Linda weekly - Hedgehog ok or details if desired

If necessary, allow hedgehog to be checked at the end of week 1, week 3 and then monthly

To return hedgehog to Linda immediately, if there is any concern for it's health, or if Linda determines that it needs to be readmitted. **The health of the hedgehog is our prime concern.

If necessary for the individual hedgehog
to be weighed on day 3 and day 7 and then weekly (unless a pregnant, or lactating female)

Fostered hedgehogs are not to be used for talks or taken out of the garden they have been released into unless agreed by Linda

We look to ensure that the fostered hedgehogs have a second chance to live their lives in safety, and where possible with an opportunity to breed. (Baby hoglets when weaned and mature enough will be relocated to hedgehog friendly, 'open' gardens.
